English as a Second Language (ESL) is a ministry dedicated to "seeking the peace of our city" (Jeremiah 29) through helping people acquire English speaking skills.   Recent data suggests that there may be upwards of 100,000 people in Indianapolis whose primary language is Spanish.  This reality is simply a sign that people from every nation are moving to the urban centers of America.

Would you like to be a student?  Classes are free, just show up and we'll determine the best class for you.

Would like to be a teacher?  You do not have to speak another language to help with ESL!  We have students at every level of English ability so we need instructors/helpers at every level of foreign language ability (or, none at all!).  The main requirement for helping with ESL is a desire to do so and a heart for people.

Where and When?  Currently, we meet at the Irvington Library (click here for map) from 6-8 pm on Tuesday evenings.

To get more involved or ask a question...please send an email to our ESL director, Jessy Delaplane.
